Nutrition Therapy

Our lives are busier than ever. Nutrition and lifestyle recommendations often leave us confused, overwhelmed, and discouraged. Being happy and healthy seems like more of a struggle than before. Medical conditions complicate matters even further.

I understand how you feel. Before I became a Dietitian / Nutrition Therapist, I lived a hectic life and worked in corporate finance for almost a decade. Stress eventually made my IBS symptoms unbearable.

I was one of the first clinical patients in the US given the Low FODMAP diet. Did this fix everything? I really wish the answer was ‘yes’, but nothing is that easy. At the time, I approached foods with an all-or-nothing attitude. I couldn’t understand how I was still experiencing symptoms while following such a strict diet.

I’m the type of person that looks for patterns and opportunities. I quickly realized that the low FODMAP diet helped, but wasn’t a cure. I decided to challenge myself to reintroduce ALL of the foods that I missed, from every single category of FODMAPs.

Here we are, 6 years later, and I can eat most foods without any problems. I’ve identified foods that I can eat in varying amounts and in combination with others, without provoking symptoms. I realized that the low FODMAP diet, like any medical diet, should be approached cautiously, with an abundance mentality, and with an individualized approach.

No one plan or approach works for everyone

Everyone has different experiences and needs when it comes to food and nutrition. Your nutrition plan includes evidence-based recommendations that consider your personal situation and health conditions.

Our lives are often complicated by more than one medical condition, so my nutrition services are tailored to any of the following:

  • Prevention & Wellness

  • Cardiovascular Disease

  • Chronic Illness

  • Digestive Health

    • Low FODMAP for IBS, SIBO

    • Gluten-Free for Celiac Disease

  • Disordered Eating / Eating Disorders

  • Insulin Resistance

    • Pre-diabetes

    • Diabetes

    • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

  • Weight & Body Image Concerns (Non-diet approach)

Focus on the food, not numbers

My goal is for you to learn to eat what works for your mind, body, and life. Receive counseling, education, and support focused on changing your life in terms of food, not numbers.

Learn to eat based on your feelings of hunger, energy levels, and medical conditions. Experience food in ways that consider your busy life, along with personal challenges and limitations.

Forget the restrictive diet mentality

No foods are off limits, but some are more nutritious than others. Learn to add these foods in new ways that help you feel satisfied, support your health, and fit your lifestyle.

Replace guilt with confidence in your ability to understand your own nutrition needs. Restricted diets are almost impossible to maintain. Instead, learn a personalized, balanced approach that considers your medical history and intuitive needs.
